These terms cover buying parts from this website and having work done at the shop. Using the site means you accept them. Last updated August 12, 2026.
Who you are dealing with
Big Wood Customs is a custom motorcycle shop at 2973 South Military Highway, Chesapeake, VA 23323. You can reach us on (757) 966-1049 or through the contact page.
Orders and prices
An order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we send you an order confirmation, and not before. Until then we can decline it, which we would do if a part turned out to be discontinued, if the price shown was clearly wrong, or if we cannot ship to where you are.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude shipping and sales tax unless the page says otherwise. Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. Some custom wheels and one-off parts are quoted rather than priced, and those pages say so instead of showing a figure.
Shipping
Parts in stock usually leave within two working days. Anything ordered in, painted to match, or built to your specification takes longer, and we will tell you roughly how long before we take the order. Delivery dates are estimates.
Risk passes to you on delivery. Check the shipment when it arrives and tell us within seven days if something is damaged or missing, so we can put it right with the carrier.
Returns
Unused parts in their original packaging can be returned within thirty days for a refund of the price paid. Return shipping is yours unless the part was faulty or we sent the wrong one. Fit the part before you decide you want it and it is no longer returnable.
Painted, hydrodipped, engraved, cut, stitched and made to order items cannot be returned unless they are faulty, because they were made for your bike and cannot be sold to anybody else.
Workshop bookings and deposits
Custom builds and paint work are booked with a deposit. The deposit holds your slot and pays for materials ordered specifically for your bike, so it is not refundable once we have bought them. If you cancel before we order anything, we refund it in full.
Bikes left with us are covered by our insurance while they are on the premises. We will always agree a price with you before doing work that goes beyond what was quoted.
Fitment and use
It is your responsibility to check that a part suits your motorcycle. Model years vary and a part that fits one year does not always fit the next. Ask us if you are unsure and we will check before you order.
Some parts we sell are meant for closed course or off road use and are labelled that way. Fitting one to a bike you ride on the road may make it fail inspection or breach local law, and that is your decision to make, not ours.
Warranty and liability
Parts carry the manufacturer warranty that came with them and we will help you make a claim. Our own workmanship is guaranteed for twelve months. Neither covers ordinary wear, crash damage, competition use, or work somebody else has altered.
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the courts of Virginia deal with any dispute arising from them.
